"As soon as you enter the gate into the grounds of Roughley you sink two or three levels into peaceful relief from the busy world we live in. The two rooms in the main house are spacious and elegant and the cottages give you privacy and even more quiet. The details of the robes and cookies and silver and other collections in fine cabinets add to the richness of the place."

"This week my husband and I made our third trip to Joshua Tree National Park and stayed yet again at the Roughley. And we'll go back again, if for no other reason than because it's such a delight to spend a night at this pretty property. There are lots of trees and flowers on the grounds and place where you can sit outside and enjoy that."

"My husband and I were travelling through the US and spent 2 days at this wonderful spot. We had Sunrise Room which is indeed a little house adjacent to another one but with full privacy. It was very comfortable furnished, with kitchenette and a private veranda. You could sit in diverse places in the shadow under big trees and watch the birds or nice Sam (the dog) or just listen to the wind. Very relaxing. In the morning we got an outstanding breakfast in the garden."

We are a pet friendly Inn, with four designated rooms for use when traveling with pets:
Cottage, Farmhouse, Pinto and Museum Room.
Pet fee of $35 applies. We ask that pets are not left unattended in rooms. If there is damage to the room or
extensive cleaning is needed for the repair or cleaning, a charge will be made to the credit card on file.
For rooms with fireplaces, we ask that only the provided Duraflame logs be used.
Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult when enjoying the pool. There is no lifeguard on duty.
Cancellation Policies
72-hour notice is required for changes or cancellations of standard reservations, and 14-day notice during holiday periods, as well as for group reservations. Your deposit, minus a $10 per room processing fee will be refunded on cancelled or changed reservations made prior to these cut-offs.
Cancellations or changes made within these time periods will result in the loss of the full deposit. Early departures are also subject to loss of deposit.

Two charming guest quarters await in what was once Elizabeth & Bill Campbell's personal museum, built to house her growing collection of artifacts, which later became the Desert Branch of the Southwest Museum.
This historic building is split in two, with the Pinto Room on the north side, and the Museum Room on the south facing side. Both the Pinto Room and Museum Room offer privacy and comfort, with queen beds, sitting areas, modern bathrooms and full kitchenettes.
The Pinto Room offers a private front porch which is covered, and set with Adirondack furnishings for a great spot to sip morning coffee and be enchanted while watching the changing colors and shadows on Campbell hill. Discover your outdoor patio through a side door in the bedroom of the Museum Room. The patio is covered, fitted with patio seating, and includes a fire pit. Enjoy sweeping desert views, and a stunning starry night sky.
The Pinto Room offers a private front porch which is covered, and set with Adirondack furnishings for a great spot to sip morning coffee and be enchanted while watching the changing colors and shadows on Campbell hill. When booking your room, a credit card is required to hold all reservations. A deposit, equal to the first night room and tax, will be charged to the credit card provided at the cancellation cut-off date.
